Cetrimide Agar Medium - Names and Identifiers
Cetrimide Agar Medium - Introduction
Hexadecane trimethylammonium bromide agar is a cationic surfactant with the chemical formula (CH3)3N(CH2)16Br. It is a white crystalline solid, soluble in water, with good surface active properties.
Hexadecane trimethyl ammonium bromide agar is often used as an ion exchanger, which can be used in water treatment, textile industry, preparation of detergents and skin care products. It can form an ion pair with anions, and can adsorb and decompose organic matter, which can remove pollutants and enhance the cleaning effect.
The preparation of hexadecane trimethyl ammonium bromide agar is generally obtained by reacting brominated alkanes and trimethylamine under alkaline conditions, and then after crystallization and drying treatment, a product with higher purity is obtained.
During use, attention should be paid to the safe use of hexadecane trimethylammonium bromide agar. It has a certain degree of irritation and should be rinsed with plenty of water immediately after contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhaling its dust, and if inhalation occurs, move the victim to fresh air. During storage and operation, avoid contact with oxidants and maintain a well-ventilated environment.
